We are currently looking for a Counter Sales Agent for our train station located in Miramichi, New Brunswick. This position is on-call with no minimum guaranteed hours.
As a Counter Sales Agent, you will sell VIA and interline tickets to the public, secure and confirm reservations, prepare ticket sales reports, provide service and rate information to the public and issue and /or process refunds. You will also mail itineraries and/or tickets when required as well as perform clerical duties associated with position. In addition, you will provide assistance to passengers with special needs to entrain and/or detrain (wheelchair, luggage handling, etc) and you will be responsible for registering, loading and receiving baggage transported by baggage car. You will perform other related duties including the station cleaning.
SCHEDULE:
On call, you will work any day of the week including week-ends, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (hours may change). Your days-off will vary.
| Requirements:
A fluently BILINGUAL (ENGLISH & FRENCH spoken and written) customer-oriented individual, you possess excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills and you enjoy working with the public. You have a High School Diploma as well as good computer skills and a minimum of one year prior customer service experience. You are discreet and possess good judgment and you must be able to work alone as well. You have a valid driver's licence and you must be comfortable with lifting of weights up to 20Kgs.
A training session has to be successfully completed before obtaining this position. The training is paid $10 per hour; all expenses including transportation will be refunded. If you are selected for this position, you may need to be available for 5 week’s full time training in Moncton, NB to be scheduled this Spring.
