Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, IT Security, is responsible and accountable for managing all facets related to the information security domain at VIA. He or she plays a strategic role in defining services and direction, and in resource and budget planning. He or she remains at the forefront of the latest trends and best practices with respect to information security.
Defines strategic and tactical direction in order to align IT positions with the security normative framework to support clients’ business needs.
Defines and maintains the Corporation’s IT security architecture design, the security awareness program, and security documents (policies, standards, guidelines and procedures).
Defines and maintains the security policies, norms, regulations, laws and standards.
Coordinates the resolution of checkpoints.
Strategically influences decision making when selecting the security measures required to support established policies and the risks to be covered.
Acts as the lead advisor to senior management and managers concerning information security.
Manages and coordinates the progress of project teams. Assesses resource requirements and establishes their schedules.
Relays work progress to the management team and to users.
Acts as advisor and coach to team employees.
Participates in determining employee career development plans.
Closely monitors new trends and best practices in the industry.
Manages and participates in opportunity follow-up. Manages and participates in IT security domain business development.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the "Disaster Recovery Plan" and ensures synchronization with the Corporation’s "Business Continuity Plan".
Manages the IT Security team. Ensures that resources are effectively engaged on the projects and activities identified and quantified in the group’s plans.
| Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in I.T. Fifteen years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in an information security lead advisory position. A combination of academic background and relevant experience may be considered. One or more certifications in Information Security.
